Well water and irrigation are the local signature. Groundwater out here carries dissolved iron, and iron on wool oxidises into a rust bloom that no amount of rinsing shifts — it has to be chemically reduced. It arrives two ways: a sprinkler head that overshoots onto a lanai rug, and a carpet-cleaning wand filled from an untreated tap. The orange halo usually shows up a week later, well after anyone connects it to the water.
