Colour Run Correction
When a red bleeds into an ivory ground, speed matters more than technique.
Method
How it is done
Dye that has migrated is still soluble for a window after it moves, and within that window it can often be drawn back out. After it sets, correction becomes a much longer process of controlled reduction, and results are no longer guaranteed. We test dye stability before washing precisely so this does not happen in our own tank.
Why It Matters
What happens if it waits
Bleeding usually starts at home — a spill blotted with warm water, or a rug cleaned with a rented machine that had no dye test behind it.
Tell-tale sign: Pink or brown haloing spreading out from a darker motif into a lighter field.
