Treatment
Odor & Mildew Treatment
Musty smell is a living thing, not a stale one. Something is growing in the foundation.
Method
How it is done
Mildew needs moisture, still air and a food source, and a wool rug on a floor supplies all three. Treatment is full immersion so the foundation itself is flushed, an antimicrobial stage, then controlled drying that gets the core dry rather than just the surface. Surface deodorising does nothing here except add the moisture the growth needs.
Why It Matters
What happens if it waits
The smell is the by-product. Removing the smell without removing the growth means it returns within weeks, usually worse.
Tell-tale sign: A smell that is stronger when the room has been shut up, or a rug that feels cool and slightly heavy underneath.
