What Downtown Tampa is built from
Downtown Tampa is a vertical service area, and that is the part that matters for a rug. What we collect here comes out of towers, which means elevators, loading docks, service corridors and a booking window rather than a driveway. The rugs themselves tend to be sized for hard floors in open-plan units with floor-to-ceiling glass down at least one side.
Residents are a mix of owners and long-term renters, a good number of them without a car in the building, which is precisely why collection and delivery matter more here than anywhere else on the route.

Height is not the same thing as dryness, and downtown rugs have their own pair of problems. Just under a quarter of sampled locations fall in a mapped flood zone, with base flood elevations around 12 feet against a core that mostly sits near 17 feet, so exposure is concentrated at the water edge and in everything below the lobby. Ground-floor amenity space, storage cages and parking levels are where water actually turns up, and a rug in storage is a rug nobody checks. Above that the problem inverts completely: a wall of west-facing glass over a hard floor is a sun lamp, and it will bleach a line across a rug in one season while the air conditioning runs the room dry enough to leave wool brittle. Two opposite failures inside one building is entirely normal here.
